About us

Matanna Editions are carefully curated photo books, showcasing work by a single photographer. Each title is limited to 300 numbered copies and contains one original photo, signed by the artist. The print is small, but made with great care. The goal is to make photographs of quality available at an affordable price. The books are restrained in design. Focus will be on the images. We want to make presentations that invite attentive viewing. Certain parameters are fixed: the dimensions of the books are 17 by 24 cm. The number of pages is 48. There will be very little text, preferably only a short statement by the artist.

Matanna Editions are presented every year, simultaneously, in a set of four. Photographers presented in Matanna Editions can be established artists or emerging talents. Every year, we would also like to entrust one of the four editions to a recently graduated student from an art academy in Belgium or abroad. Preferably we want to show work that is unpublished. It can be an older (forgotten) series or something completely new. The aim is to make every edition a thing of beauty that gives insight into the photographer’s way of seeing.

Submissions

We only accept submissions for book proposals sent in the form of low res digital pdfs. Unfortunately  we can only respond to those projects we are keen to learn more about. Please accept our apologies for this.
